Charleen Stroup Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Mental Health Counseling

    AVON PARK, FL, April 2, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Charleen 'Charlie' Stroup, Licensed Mental Health Counselor at the Paradigm Group Counseling Services, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in mental health counseling.

Mrs. Stroup is a full-time mental health counselor specializing in grief and bereavement. Her areas of expertise include change management, loss, mood disorders and bereavement counseling. In addition to her work with The Paradigm Group Counseling Services, she often does public speaking locally on a wide range of mental health topics. Mrs. Stroup also serves as president of the board of directors for Change of Pace, Inc, a nonprofit program focused on providing respite care for the caregivers of those with early dementia. It is the first and only facility of its kind in Highlands County. Mrs. Stroup has lived in Highlands County for more than two decades.

Prior to working in her current capacity, Mrs. Stroup was employed with a hospice where she conducted bereavement groups, rendered grief and crisis counseling to individuals and groups, and provided community education on numerous topics including stress management, medication management, grief and loss adjustment and more. Mrs. Stroup attributes her success to her ability to be flexible in the face of challenges.

Mrs. Stroup holds a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University and a licensed practical nurse diploma from South Florida Community College. She is a board-certified psychotherapy counselor, certified addiction specialist and licensed mental health counselor. Mrs. Stroup has written newspaper articles and facilitated seminars on various mental health topics. Looking toward the future, she intends to continue making contributions to the field of mental health.
