WILMINGTON, NC, December 14, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Author and athlete Jack Perconte has announced the release of a new book for sports coaches entitled, 'Creating a Season to Remember: The New Youth- Sports-Coaching Leadership Handbook.'

Perconte is renowned in the world of baseball for many reasons - he is a former major league player and has been a youth sports coach for 28 years. 'Creating a Season to Remember' features a coaching philosophy and coaching tips for youth coaches of all sports, youth baseball and little league coaches. This book is the youth coaching training that has been missing. It contains the forward-thinking techniques that will bring enjoyment back to the games for all - athletes, parents, and coaches. Just as important, it will help limit the number of unfortunate scenes that occur daily on the playing fields and indoor courts.

"I wrote this book," Perconte stated, "after years of hearing parents and players calling their sports coach an 'Idiot' and that their child quit because, 'Playing wasn't any fun.' I began to realize that people were often right with their assessment but also sympathized with the 'Idiots' because they never received the proper, or any, training to coach the kids in ways that inspire them and improve their skills."

The new coaching book has received a number of positive reviews. Bill Vasko, college coach said, "Coach Perconte has developed some tremendous ideas in this handbook that will certainly help coaches at all levels." Publishers Weekly, the definitive professional resource for book publishing, stated, "Perconte, who coaches softball and baseball, has written a thoughtful guide for the 'countless kindhearted people' who are trying to coach and inspire athletes . . . . This is a valuable resource for parents and coaches of youth sports."

Jack's first book, 'The Making of a Hitter: A Proven and Practical Step-by-Step Baseball Guide' offers tips for every level of player, from little league to the major leagues. It shows players how to hit and also shows parents and coaches how to teach hitting. Presenting techniques drawn from the author's years of experience as a coach and a Major League baseball player, the manual provides an in-depth description of the drills, habits, and lessons critical to a successful future. In addition to providing highly detailed instruction on the fundamentals, the guide reveals how to develop a good mental approach and confidence in every hitter.

His second book, 'Raising An Athlete: How to Instill Confidence, Build Skills and Inspire a Love of Sport,' provides parents and coaches insights into how to deal with the challenges and pitfalls that arise as children progress in sports. From handling the inevitable tears and frustrations and honing the appropriate message for varying age ranges and skill levels to recognizing the real performance enhancers and how to keep burnout at bay, the book emphasizes integrity, hard work, and practice as well as the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership in players. Advice on using humor to relieve stress, overcoming adversity, and how to handle troublesome coaches is also included.
