Black Belt Community Foundation Continues Work with W.K. Kellogg Foundation's TRHT Process to Present Multiple City-wide Events in Selma honoring MLK Jr. Holiday and the National Day of Racial Healing

    SELMA, AL, January 11, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Black Belt Community Foundation in partnership with the Selma Center for Nonviolence, Truth and Reconciliation (SCNTR) will launch a series of events in Selma spanning January 14-16. January 15th is the national MLK Jr. holiday, and January 16th is the second annual observance of the National Day of Racial Healing (NDORH) as begun by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, a world leader in philanthropy.

Multiple events, across three days, will offer the public numerous opportunities to be involved. These events will involve a robust participation from Selma's church and faith-based communities. Following the many community outreach, volunteer, fellowship, training and healing events, a grand finale musical concert will celebrate the close of the NDORH at the Selma Center for Nonviolence(SCNTR). This concert will feature nationally acclaimed musical artist Kishi Bashi with the No-No Boy project. Information links on Kishi Bashi and this special project are below. The concert will be co-presented in Selma by the Local, a new food cooperative project serving Selma. This concert joins the backdrop of several musical events happening nationwide to celebrate NDORH including a nationally broadcast and streamed concert happening in New Orleans on January 16.
