Marie Bethel Celebrated for Excellence as a Senior Fashion Designer, Author, Artist, and Sculptor

Ms. Bethel plans to shake up the fashion world by creating one-of-a-kind garments

NEW YORK, NY, March 05, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marie Bethel has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Marie Bethel was born in Trinidad, educated in Trinidad, Canada, USA, and United Kingdom. She obtained a business accountant diploma while attending Alberta Vocational College, studied nursing, and had a successful career. She had a natural love for fashion designing, tailoring her own line of nursing uniforms for colleagues and friends. This passion grew to a need she had to explore.

In 1982 Marie acted on her passion, attending various designing courses, and fashion schools, and was finally accepted as a student at The International Academy of Design and Merchandising in Toronto, Canada. In 1996 the self-motivated young designer graduated, receiving a diploma as a certified fashion designer. She then worked in New York as a freelance designer and designed costumes, and evening wear dresses for the annual Labor Day Caribbean Carnival festival.
In 1998 Marie studied at the Manhattanville Needle Trade School in the Bronx, New York as a tailor, while continuing to work as a freelance designer.

To further her knowledge in fashion she relocated to London, England to pursue her career as a designer in 2005, attending the University of Arts London School of Fashion, while designing clothes for local clients including Mr. Malcolm Stewart, Director of Gallia Textiles, United Kingdom.

In 2006 Marie graduated as a pattern technologist using the Gerber System, Mac, PC, Illustration, and Photoshop. In 2007 she was fortunate to forge a new working relationship with her soon-to-be mentor and employer, Mr. Albert Alinterdonato, working as an assistant designer in the House of Albert in Florida. Adapting and developing quickly, she became one of Mr. Albert's head designers in 2009. As a separate project, she headed her own fashion line called "Couturier Fashions," which featured modeling couture and evening dresses.

She have been in many fashion shows, as well as charity events such as Fashion Island Expo Show and designed an evening gown using natural fabrics for Alice Austen, which was auctioned and displayed in the museum of the Alice Austen House in Staten Island. She then designed Miss Penny for breast cancer awareness in 2014. Miss Penny's gown was designed with over 5,000 pennies, and 55 dollars in Canadian and American nickels and dimes, and was posted in Curvy Magazine. Miss Penny's slogan was "Every Penny Counts."

Marie created Miss Bread for breast cancer awareness from old bread, bread skins, and other household ingredients to honor all the women who lost loved ones and experienced this awful disease. The design has a unique look with a silhouette and proportions designed as architectural impressions. This bread sculpture turned out to be a beautiful high-fashion model. Her gown has 3,200 rhinestones with pink ribbons and furs; her necklace was also formed with several rhinestones. It is an extremely elegant piece of artwork. Miss Bread and Miss Penny are registered publications of artwork in Canada. Marie named this project Miss Bread with the slogan "Thou shalt not live by bread alone, but also donate to breast cancer." The numerous nipple icons on her gown are a reminder of healthy breasts and the unfortunate women that lost the battle and died from breast cancer.

Marie is also a contributor to two books, "The Power of my Faith" from Athens Publishing and "Recycling & Renewable Energy" (Lovely Silk Publishing). Marie made another contribution to a recipe book entitled "Recipes That Make You Go Mmm" (Lovely Silk Publishing). She invented banana bread chocolate muffins and honey chocolate. She recently wrote and illustrated a children's book entitled "Back in Time" (Xlibris Publishing Company), which is available through Amazon and Barnes & Noble. She invented a novelty doll named Freckle Face Annie Pencil/Pen Doll that can write, has an eraser and sharpener, and spits water out of her mouth whenever her cheeks are squeezed. Marie also conceptualized the one inch bra strap complemented with a sexy empire broader waistline for plus size women; this design helps prevent excoriated areas that affect the shoulders and under the breasts. Freckle Face Annie Pen/Pencil doll and the Empire plus size brassiere are publishing artwork in Canada.

Marie also started a new project called M3A Designs, which recycles clothing by recreating the old into the new, using bridal gowns, eveningwear, men's suits, jeans, and any type of clothing that can be re-designed into a fabulous fashionable young fresh look. She combined her respect for timeless design with a sensibility for flattering silhouettes, and started meeting affordable recycled-clothing needs without compromising her eco-sensitive lifestyle. As this business grew, seamstresses have been recruited from women's shelters. They have the satisfaction of working on one garment from start to finish and offering creative input.

The fashion world is buzzing and looking for new fresh ideas to elevate the industry and the time has come from the very creative Marie Bethel to shake things up. She believes in creating a one-of-a-kind garment. Her perseverance, hard work and years of experience will pay off indeed.
