Janice Edelman Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

An accomplished listee, Ms. Edelman celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. A talented and passionate artist and educator for many years in the heart of Philadelphia, Ms. Edelman spent 14 years of her career as a watercolor instructor at the Woodmere Art Museum. Teaching as a commercial art and watercolor instructor from 1980 to 2006, and as a lecturer on artist biographies and other subjects from 2000 to present, she was also the head of the art department at the Montgomery County Vocational School in Upper Moreland, PA, and a commercial art instructor at the Hussian School of Art. Furthermore, she spent nearly a decade as an advertising designer for Strawbridge and Clothier and 12 years as an advertising designer for John Wanamaker. Although she no longer teaches, she continues to paint. Particular to watercolor, her subject range includes everything from landscapes and portraits to flowers and abstracts. She also loves photography and writing.

Ms. Edelman earned an Associate of Arts at the Art Institute of Philadelphia in 1956. Studying with Henry Hensche in Provincetown, MA, Boris Blai in Philadelphia, PA, as well as Howard Watson, Jeanne Dobie, Tony Couch and Al Brouillette, she also attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, The Cape School of Art, and the Abington, Cheltenham and Oreland Art Centers. She completed a Bachelor of Arts at Thomas Edison State University in 2006. Ms. Edelman has since included her artwork in dozens of juried exhibitions since 1957, has contributed her works to a number of museums, schools and libraries across Pennsylvania, and has been included in two permanent collections and hosted three solo art exhibitions, one of which was at Ann's Choice Art Gallery in Warminster, PA, in 2016.

A signature member of the Philadelphia Water Color Club and the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society and an associate member of the American Watercolor Society and the National Watercolor Society, Ms. Edelman is also the former president of the Art Directors Club of Philadelphia and former vice president of the Philadelphia Water Color Club. Within her local community, she has also been active as a workshop leader at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and watercolor instructor at Lower Moreland High School, and she has been a juror for the Norristown Art League, chairman of the art study group and president of Retired Executives and Professionals in Cheltenham, PA, and a member of Keneseth Israel Congregation.

Highlighted in more than 30 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who in American Art, Ms. Edelman recently received a number of photographic awards from the Huntingdon Valley Camera Club.
