Alexander A. Anderson Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Achievements in Energy

Mr. Anderson provides technology and education solutions for renewable energy and sustainable development for off-grid communities

He believes his success comes from a desire to improve the world through the power of technology.

NORTH BEND, WA, April 10, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Alexander A. Anderson has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Anderson is the co-founder of Odin Energy Works LLC, a research and development firm that provides innovations as well as education solutions in renewable energy and sustainable development for off-grid communities. With the global movement away from fossil fuels, Odin is one of the companies dedicated to establishing reliable energy free from the constraints of traditional coal and oil. Mr. Anderson was inspired to enter the profession because of his father, who worked as a coordinator and inspector for Boeing. His firm is known for the development of the A-PEGASUS Airborne Portable Electric Generation and Storage Universal System, which harvests wind energy from a turbine suspended using aviation-grade aerostat balloons. To watch the E-Shark, a double-aerostat prototype, in action, please visit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQjsjvjVtmU.

Mr. Anderson is a graduate of Green River College and Saint Martin's University, where he studied mechanical and aerospace engineering. He earned a professional science Master's degree in Power Systems Engineering from Washington State University in 2015, and is on course for a PhD in Systems Engineering from Colorado State University. Although he is primarily engaged in the research aspects of Odin, he has been a noted volunteer with the IEEE Smart Village since 2015, and elected chair of partner engagement from 2017 to 2019. Within the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, he has been a member since 2011, and participated with the Power and Energy Society as well as the Society for Social Implications of Technology.

Mr. Anderson is a recognized member of the Pi Tau Sigma Engineering Honor Society, as well as the Society of American Military Engineers and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. With the Smart Villages Initiative, Mr. Anderson was able to bring electricity and entrepreneurial opportunity to 200,000 residents in the Jiwaka province of Papua New Guinea. The A-PEGASUS project has the support of the American Public Power Association and Tacoma Power, which awarded him a research grant. He has also received the 2016 Distinguished Alumni honor from Washington State University, and was recognized as a Boeing National Merit Scholar.

Mr. Anderson believes his success comes from a desire to improve the world through the power of technology, a dream that allows everyone in the world to empower themselves and their communities. In addition to wind power, he has developed technologies for rain harvesting and distribution systems. "Seeing my designs come to life and impact thousands of people in remote villages of Papua New Guinea, where 90% of people had no electricity and 97% had no internet in 2016" was the highlight of his career thus far. In coming years, Mr. Anderson intends to realize all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals for the 50 million people in Africa, India, South America, and Asia.
