Ms. Flores is a speech language pathologist who specializes in both English and Spanish. Throughout the years and the present, Ms. Flores has worked as a SLP independent contractor working in clinics and home health environments. She formerly spent nine years in early childhood intervention, three years at Providence Memorial Hospital, and 30 years at Ysleta Independent School District. Her extensive background began when she first earned a Bachelor of Arts in speech, hearing, and language disorders at The University of Texas at El Paso in 1983, followed by a Master of Science in speech and language pathology in 1985. She then earned certification in clinical competence in speech language pathology through the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, life certification and a teacher certificate in speech and hearing therapy through the State of Texas, and a license in speech language pathology in both Texas and New Mexico.
Outside of her full-time career, Ms. Flores has served as a class sponsor for J.M. Hanks High School in the Ysleta Independent School District, technology and inclusion trainer for Assistive Technology Devices in El Paso (Speak Up Texas), off campus supervisor at Texas Women's University and The University of Texas at El Paso, English as a Second Language instructor at El Paso Community College, and SLP network member for region 19 of the Education Service Center in El Paso. Furthermore, she has spent time with various professional organizations in such roles as president, president-elect, and secretary of the El Paso Speech-Language and Hearing Association and as a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, New Mexico Speech-Language Hearing Association, and the Texas Speech-Language Hearing Association.
Throughout her career, Ms. Flores has received numerous awards for continuing education through the American Speech-Language Hearing Association between 1999 and 2016, and has been included in several editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of American Women. Looking to do more volunteer work in the future, she currently enjoys a host of activities such as cooking, gardening, dancing, reading, travelling, and watching sports. Ms. Flores has two daughters, Sasha M. Moreno and Danielle E. Moreno and six fur babies (pet dogs - Madie, Bella, Sophie, Basia, Copper, and Oliver). Ms. Flores loves spending quality time with her daughters, fur babies, and family.
