SOUTH BEND, IN, April 27, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Milton Gibson, MD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Gibson celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Dr. Gibson is an award-winning cardiologist whose expertise treating medical conditions of the heart has profoundly impacted the lives of countless individuals and their families. Dr. Gibson initially pursued an education in electrical engineering until a tragic accident changed the course of his life and career. Thereafter, he was a rotating intern at the Memorial Hospital of South Bend, where he built his skill set by being exposed to many areas of medicine. In 1968, he joined Methodist Hospital Graduate Medical Center, where he completed a residency in internal medicine followed by a fellowship in cardiology. Throughout his career, Dr. Gibson maintained certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Disease, the American Board of Internal Medicine, and the American Board of Interventional Cardiology until 2010.

Dr. Gibson was the recipient of a Man of the Year Award from St. Joseph County Heart Association. He has been highly regarded in his professional community as evident by his involvement in prominent industry organizations. Dr. Gibson is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Chest Physicians, the Council of Clinical Cardiology, the American Heart Association, the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Interventions and the American College of Physicians.

In addition, he served his country as a captain in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968, serving in the Vietnam War. He was subsequently awarded a Decorated Bronze Star for his contributions to the military. Married to Gloria Jean Birky since 1961, he is the proud father of two sons. In his spare time, he enjoys ham radio.
