Lectrifi Close To Revealing Home Wireless Power Hub

Lectrifi says it intends to have a wireless home power hub ready for market by the third quarter of 2019.

HONG KONG, May 03, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Hong Kong-based wireless power transfer (WPT) technology company, Lectrifi Limited says it has inked plans to release a wireless charging hub for domestic application by the start of the second half of 2019. The company says the unit will be capable of charging and powering suitably equipped devices within a radius of 8 meters.

Lectrifi says it expects the hub to retail as standalone unit with adapters for legacy devices and appliances available for purchase separately at extra cost. The ambitious target was revealed by a source with knowledge of the project but who did not have official authorization to discuss it with the press.

He said that Lectrifi had made several breakthroughs with magnetic resonance technology which centered on extending the effective range at which the unit could charge devices effectively.

"We were concerned that, if the effective range was too short, it would require users to purchase several devices rather than just one or two. It was important to increase the range to a level at which users with smaller than average dwellings could effectively rely upon just the one device," he explained.

According to the source, Lectrifi was keen to ensure that devices which currently rely upon wired charging with cables and cords would be catered for. To that end, it commissioned the development of several adapters capable of receiving the magnetic resonance waves the technology relies on and converting them into power.

"It's envisaged that, by the time the product is scheduled for release, it will be capable of projecting power up to a range of 8 meters," explained the Lectrifi source.
