York County Farm Launches New Website

Loaves and Fishes Farm partners with CourseVector to create website with donation portal, event listings

YORK, PA, May 17, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Even a farm needs a website! A York County, PA not-for-profit farm launched a new website to make their services more accessible to the community. Loaves and Fishes Farm provides a unique opportunity for training and education. They offer a Veteran Training Program and farm tours, allowing them give back in a practical and fulfilling way. Thanks in part to a partnership with CourseVector LLC for an affordable website design, the public can now find everything that is going on at the farm throughout the year, along with a donation portal to support the farm, online.

From humble beginnings in 2011, Jennifer Briggs and Bonnie McCann turned a cinder block garage into a thriving farm. Offering workshops in sustainable farming, permaculture, creative reuse, and other homesteading skills, Loaves and Fishes Farm takes great pride in educating the community about nutritious food, farming, and homesteading. They host skill sharing workshops on bread making, fermentation and canning, woodworking, stained glass, medicinal herbs, yoga, soap making, green building and other traditional crafts. They also provide free training for Veterans returning from active duty service to gain vocational and life skills at the Loaves and Fishes Farm in York County, PA. The program costs about $30,000 per year, as the Veteran receives paid wages, help with housing, living expenses, tools, training materials and field trips.

Loaves and Fishes Farm offers so much to Central Pennsylvania. The website had to be a space showcasing the many offerings on the farm and beyond. The WordPress theme had to support the constantly changing schedule and highlight various events right on the homepage. The ability to donate to the Veteran training program online was also a must. "WordPress is the perfect option for a website such as this," states CourseVector's Jennifer Mariani. "It is easy-to-use, so the staff at Loaves and Fishes can update their site without hiring a technician." The responsive theme works across all devices, which is important since most people primarily use mobile devices.
