    PHOENIX, AZ, June 04, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Miriam J. McClennen with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. McClennen celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Very involved as the director of publications for the Office of the Secretary of State in Phoenix for more than a decade, Ms. McClennen officially retired in 1987. Her role was the result of her former efforts as an administrative assistant to the president of the Arizona State Senate in Phoenix between 1973 and 1976. She also spent one year as the chairwoman of the legislative subcommittee of administrative procedure with the Arizona State Legislature in Phoenix. Prior to entering politics and local government, Ms. McClennen was a retail buyer for nearly 20 years, first with Frederick & Nelson, a subsidiary of Marshall Field, and then with Goldwaters.

Involved in her local community for much of her life, Ms. McClennen has long been affiliated with the Heard Museum for more than 35 years, where she serves on the board of directors and is also a lifetime trustee. The museum's mission is to serve as the world's preeminent museum for the presentation, interpretation and advancement of American Indian art, emphasizing its intersection with broader artistic and cultural themes. She has also been involved as a member of the Phoenix Symphony Board of Overseers since 2007 and more recently served as commissioner of the Arizona Commission on the Arts from 1989 to 1996, an agency of the state that provides grants, programs, services and leadership in support of the arts and arts learning programs. Ms. McClennen has served on a number of other organizations as well, including the Arizonians for Cultural Development, the Arizona State of Historical Records, and the Phoenix Symphony Guild, among several others. A longstanding member of the Phoenix Symphony of Overseers, the Harvard Club, the Phoenix Art Museum and the Phoenix Country Club, Ms. McClennen is also a former member of the board of directors of the Charter 100.

During her tenure, Ms. McClennen was an original compiler, codifier and editor of the "Arizona Administrative Code" publication for nearly 15 years and the "Arizona Administrative Register" for 11 years. She has been recognized with a Distinguished Service Award by the Attorney General of Arizona, an Outstanding Service to People Award by the Arizona State Senate and a National Association of Secretaries of State Award. She has been showcased in more than 40 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women since 1989. Married to her husband Louis McClennen since April 1969 with three step-children, Ms. McClennen holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington and a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University.
