Ms. Braunesreither is a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) who has been working for Contra Costa County Environmental Health with Contra Costa Health Services in Concord, CA, since 1994. In the field for more than 30 years, she formerly served as an environmental health officer for the City of Pittsburg, CA, environmental health specialist II for Ventura County Environmental Health in California and environmental chemist in Santa Paula, CA. In addition to her full-time role in Contra Costa County, Ms. Braunesreither has also been a trainer of solid waste with the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery for the past 18 years.

Earning a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice and chemistry at the University of South Dakota in 1988, Ms. Braunesreither is not only a Registered Environmental Health Specialist, but is also a longtime certified landfill inspector and certified manager of landfill operations by the Solid Waste Association of North America and is certified in integrated waste management by the University of California. She has been active as a Contra Costa County representative for the northern chapter of the California Environmental Health Association since 2013 and a member of the update standardization committee for the Annual Educational Symposium with the California Environmental Health Association since 1993, where she formerly served on the Board of Directors and as the organization President (1997-1998). She has also served on multiple other committees for the California Environmental Health Association, including the world congress committee, the international committee and various ad hoc committees.

Speaking and writing extensively in her field, Ms. Braunesreither has provided training on topics such as "Introduction to California Environmental Quality Act," hosted by the California Environmental Health Association in 2011, as well as for "Solid Waste 101" in 2011 and "How to Write a Solid Waste Facility Permit" in 2006. She also served as the editor of the "CEHA Bulletin" and "The Mission Bell," which are both published through the California Environmental Health Association, and has been involved with preparing and maintaining various manuals and binders for the organization's executive committee.

Very much involved in her local community, Ms. Braunesreither has been volunteering with the County Cares Food Fight and its apple core committee for the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano since 2003. She has also been a volunteer for Shelter, Inc., and STAND! Against Domestic Violence since 1994.

Ms. Braunesreither has been the recipient of numerous accolades over the years, including several Presidential Citations from the California Environmental Health Association and awards from the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano for her volunteerism. She also received the prestigious Ralph Hunter Memorial Award by the Enforcement Advisory Council in partnership with the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery and the California Conference of Directors of Environmental Health-Solid Waste Policy Committee and was a nominee for the Contra Costa County Gina Martin Employee of the Year. Notably, Ms. Braunesreither has been highlighted in several editions of Who's Who in America and Who's Who of American Women.
