Kenneth W. Welch Jr. Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

With more than 40 years of industry experience to his credit, Mr. Welch has worked as the Founder, Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer for Seadog Systems, Inc., since 2016. He has simultaneously held the position of Founder, Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer for Global Oceanic Designs, Inc., since 2012. Along with being Founder, Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer for Resort Attractions Inc., since 2002.

Mr. Welch began his career as a freelance model in Galveston, Texas, from 1976 to 1979, before moving on to Welch Landscaping, where he was Owner in 1979. As Co-Producer & Director, at the Mary Moody Northern Amphitheater in Galveston, Texas from 1976–1979, he produced outdoor musical productions in conjunction with Producer/Director, James S. Stoker. The 1,700-seat Mary Moody Northern Amphitheater opened with "Lone Star", the official play of the State of Texas.

Moving on Mr. Welch took the role of Senior Designer & Store Manager for Pyramid Waterbeds from 1980 to 1981 and Water Wonderland in 1981.

He took a new role late in 1981-1982 as Vice President of Whitmore and Associates, a Resort Development Group.

Taking resort development a little further in 1982 Mr. Welch as Founder, Chairman, CEO and President created The Resort Center, Inc (TRC) a company designed to promote the travel & leisure industry, its resort developers and tourism boards by providing a one-stop shop system, for travel. During the same period starting in 1983-1988, Mr. Welch formed and operated Resort Center Investments, Ltd (RCI) and, as Founder and General Partner, led RCI in further developing alternative marketing products and services for the travel and leisure industries, specifically their advertisers and developers. Inventing the infomercial in 1984-1986 using Video Vacations, a one-hour nationwide cable television show, broadcasting on Satellite Program Network (SPN) and developing products and services that took maximum advantage of emerging technologies. Giving birth to the 'Information Age': technologies like automated digital phone systems, the advent of personal and business computers, portable camcorders and video players, cable television, personal, business internet connectivity, and ISP networks. In 1988, both companies merged into Intercontinental Travel Services, Inc (ITS) as wholly owned subsidiaries.

As if he had not enough to do, one year earlier, Mr. Welch as Founder, Chairman, CEO, President and Consultant formed Intercontinental Travel Services, Inc. to advance his vision of travel and tourism. Intercontinental Travel Services, Inc. was formed as a public shell, which acquired The Resort Center, Inc (TRC) and Resort Center Investment, Ltd (RCI) and set course to go public and bring the world a little closer. Mr. Welch turned the company over to new management in 1994, yet stayed on and helped develop its projects and marketing systems as an investor, advisor and consultant until 2002.

While still in 1988, Welch formed another company, Welch, Welch & Swanson a limited partnership created to develop alternative energy and as Inventor, Founder, and Owner he created the Air & Water Energy Recovery Device (AWERD) for natural gas pipelines. The AWERD converts excess pressure in natural gas pipelines, or other forms of high-pressure flows regulated by check valves, into usable energy allowing recovery of cold, mechanical shaft energy. The Air & Water Energy Recovery Device earned recognition in Gas Industries Magazine as #17 of 1996's Top 20 Hot Products & Services. Mr. Welch's invention received US Patent Number: 5,555,728 granted on September 17, 1996. The Company's assets along with its patent sold and transferred to Independent Natural Resources, Inc. (INRI) in 2002. Mr. Welch stayed on as chief scientific consultant until 2012.

Still building momentum in 1988, Mr. Welch as Founder, General Partner created Global Oceanic Designs, LTD to develop more technologies invented by Welch. Global Oceanic Designs aimed at offshore research, design and development, creating new and innovative ideas and concepts for underwater transportation and living. He received a US Patent on his submersible Hull designs Number: 5,727,496 granted on March 17, 1998. That company's assets along with its patent sold and transferred, to Global Oceanic Designs, Inc in 2012 and Mr. Welch currently serves as Inventor, Founder, Chairman, CEO and President.

In 1991, he became Chief Executive Consultant of ASA Technology, Inc. and worked directly with Welch, Welch & Swanson's Air & Water Energy Recovery Device and Global Oceanic Designs, Ltd's Bi & Tri-Pyramidal structural technologies in facilitating market research and development and product testing aimed at product licensing in the early 90's.

In 2002-2012 as Founder, Inventor, and Chief Scientific Consultant, he formed Independent Natural Resources, Inc. (INRI) to purchase Welch, Welch & Swanson's assets along with the Air & Water Motor patent. INRI was established to acquire and develop alternative energy products and technologies.

From 2003 to present Mr. Welch has led another company, Resort Attractions, Inc (RA) as Founder, Chairman, CEO and President. RA is a resort company specializing in water related resort tourism, travel and technology while maintaining a strong focus on innovative tourism development and travel related marketing systems.

From 2004 until present, Mr. Welch has maintained his position every three years by offering to be reelected to serve, as President of the Seven Coves Resort Condominium Association. A three story, thirty-two unit, waterfront condominium complex located on beautiful Lake Conroe, just north of Houston. They feature one and two bedroom units with the only balconies that overhang the lake.

Staying busy, in 2016 Mr. Welch built SeaDog Systems, Inc around the advancement of another of his inventions, the SeaDog Wave Pump. As Inventor, Founder, Chairman, CEO and President, he has led SeaDog Systems, Inc. in the development of a suite of technologies and products able to generate renewable baseload electrical power, produce abundant freshwater and provide extraordinary gas and liquid pumping solutions, all by simply harnessing the natural motion of ocean waves.

At approximately same time in 2016, Mr. Welch created a new wing of Global Oceanic Designs called the X–Wave Facility, a 7.6 acre commercial wave testing complex to specifically facilitate underwater and sea-surface technologies testing and conduct ocean related research, development and training.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Welch earned a high school diploma upon graduation. He has gone on to hold various patents, in the fields of alternative energy, submersibles hull technologies and marketing/communications.

In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Welch has accrued several accolades and honors throughout his impressive career. He has been presented with the Distinguished Leadership Award by the American Biographical Institute in 1990, The Golden State Award, by the International Who's Who Historical Society in 1991, and the 25-Year Achievement Award from the Board of Directors at the American Biographical Institute in 1993.

In 1992, the American Biographical Institute honored Mr. Welch among the Personalities of America, Honoring America's Leaders. The International Order of Merit by the International Biographical Centre, the Five Thousand Personalities of the World by the American Biographical Institute, and 2,000 Notable American Men by the American Biographical Institute.

Recognized as International Man of the Year by the International Biographical Centre in 1992, Mr. Welch was also listed in the International Who's Who of Intellectuals by the International Biographical Centre in 1991, as well as Who's Who of California by the International Who's Who Historical Society in 1985, 1988, 1990 and 1991. He also earned the honorable status of Man of the Year by the American Biographical Institute in 1991, Most Admired Man of the Decade by the Board of International Research at the American Biographical Institute in 1990, and among Who's Who of Executives and Professionals.

Selected for inclusion in the 21st edition of Who's Who in the West, Mr. Welch was further recognized by Worldwide Branding as Entrepreneur of the Year in 2015 and 2016, and was a featured in the 2015 edition of Pro-Files Magazine.

Attributing his success to his strong work ethic and passion for his profession, Mr. Welch became involved in his field through a natural progression of opportunities, which allowed him to work for himself. Attributed with inventing the infomercial in 1982, he is most proud of the programs and technology he developed, such as the SeaDog Wave Pump, which has brought him much success while helping set the bar for wave energy technology.
