SAHUARITA, AZ, July 25, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Ronald Lee Lyford with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Lyford celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Retired as a music teacher, Mr. Lyford devoted many years to the field, beginning at the Thorp School District in Washington in 1967 as a teacher. Following this post with a term at Vancouver School District, he would later teach in Oregon for several years before returning to Washington in 2003. In high school he received the Arion Award for Best Musician where he played two different instruments. While teaching in Washington he played in a community band and Dixieland band. He was chosen to play in a Brass Octet in Germany near Darmstadt. While in Arizona he played in a German Band, British Brass Band, Community Band, Chamber Orchestra and Hand Bell Choir. While in Germany he assisted in teaching a brass seminar.

Earning an Associate of Arts from Clark College and a Bachelor of Arts in education and Master of Music Education at Central Washington State College, Mr. Lyford garnered a Washington and Arizona State Teaching certificate. He is also certified through Right at Home Home Care. In the years since his retirement, Mr. Lyford has been a music festival judge in Arizona, held a one-year position as Nogales Elementary Honor band teacher, and has taught at the Air and Space Academy. He has taught a woodwind seminar in Gallup, New Mexico, and a flute seminar instructor for the Sahuarita School District in Arizona.

Mr. Lyford has shared his talents by playing the baritone horn to accompany the The Sycamore Baptist Church's Worship Leader since 2017 and in 2018, the organization asked him to serve as a substitute teacher for the Adult Sunday School Classes. In addition to responsibilities related to his faith, he has held numerous positions, most recently working as a home health care assistant for the Right at Home Health Care Services since 2015.

A longstanding member of the National Education Association, the American String Teachers Association and the Arizona Music Educators Association, Mr. Lyford formerly spent 10 years as the treasurer of Faith Baptist Church in Vancouver, Wash. He loves spending his free time repairing instruments, woodcarving and refinishing furniture.
