A social worker by training and heart, Ms. Evans O'Reilly serves as the program director for the Virgin Islands Family Caregiver Support Program, which lends assistance to caregivers who are providing for their aging relatives. At the start of her career, she worked for the Virgin Islands Department of Health as a medical social worker. Over the years, she has honed her skills with work in hospital settings, community health sectors, maternal and child health settings, in child and family services, and adolescent services. She is a strong leader who promotes and fosters staff involvement whenever needed.
Prior to entering the field, Ms. Evans O'Reilly earned a Bachelor of Social Work at the California State College, and a master's degree in human services with a specialization in gerontology from Capella University. She considers her biggest accomplishment in her career to be exactly where she is now. When she started, her superiors handed her an operating manual and she managed to build her position from the ground up. After attending caregiver conferences and workshops, she was able to develop the program she helms today. In the coming years, Ms. Evans O'Reilly intends to further hone her own expertise in the field, as well as that of the services she provides through the Virgin Islands Family Caregiver Support Program.
