Terry Kauffman Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    RALEIGH, NC, August 15, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Terry Kauffman with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Terry Kauffman celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Supported by 40 years of practical industry and teaching experience, Dr. Kauffman currently serves as founder and artist of Cards by Terry. Additionally, she worked as a full time lecturer in the Communication Department and Art Studies Program at North Carolina State University. Upon graduating from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism, Dr. Kauffman joined an ABC affiliate as a news producer, reporter and anchor.

Subsequently, Dr. Kauffman gained expertise in journalism and education with Alberta Educational TV, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she served as a lecturer, and North Carolina State University. She was also an adjunct assistant professor at Meredith College. In the early 80's she worked in the television education department for Ampex Data Systems, a worldwide engineering company, where she helped people understand how to operate audio, video and television equipment. Ampex developed the first marketable audio and video tape recorder and Dr. Kauffmann worked on some of the first animated computer art in the industry.

Dr. Kauffman holds a Bachelor's degree, a Master of Arts in communications from The University of Texas at Austin and a Doctor of Philosophy in psychology, communications, and creative expression and therapy from Union Institute & University. She utilized this knowledge as an expressive arts therapist in Raleigh.

Over the years, Dr. Kauffman has lent her expertise as producer and director to such projects as "Secret Place," "The Seasons of Change" and "Coming Home," which are among projects that received 15 first place national awards and a lot of press. She is also the author of the textbook "The Script As Blueprint: Content and Form Working Together: Writing for Radio, TV, Film and Video" (McGraw-Hill College, 1997). Her cards have been commissioned and carried by the North Carolina Museum of Art Foundation and her cards have been sold around the world, including at the San Francisco Fairmont Hotel and the Mark Hopkins Hotels on Nob Hill. She won first place at North Carolina State's university-wide art competition for an impressionist painting. In addition, she was a judge for art for North Carolina's Senior Games for 10 or more years.

Certified through the National Broadcasting Society and The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Dr. Kauffman has been honored many times over the course of her career for her professional accomplishments, earning a regional Emmy nomination for "Otters from Oiled Waters," a Professional Member of the Year Award from the National Broadcasting Society, and an Outstanding Lecturer Award from the College of Social Sciences and Humanities at North Carolina State University. She was also one of nine nominated faculty for best teacher here. While teaching at North Carolina State University, she was featured as Triangle's Woman. She is an active member of the American Psychological Association and has had many articles dictating her activities in her profession.

Dr. Kauffman has been featured in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, Who's Who in Entertainment and Who's Who of American Women. Looking ahead, she intends to focus on writing novels, while continuing to pursue her artwork and music.
