A partner of Goldstein, Rikon, Rikon & Houghton, P.C., in New York City since 1994, Mr. Rikon has focused his entire career on condemnation and eminent domain law. Formerly in private practice between 1988 and 1994, where he also specialized in real estate law and litigation in the Court of Claims, he was also a partner at Rudick and Rikon, P.C., between 1980 and 1988. Merging his private practice with Samuel Goldstein and Sons to form Goldstein, Goldstein and Rikon, P.C., it later became known as Goldstein, Rikon, Rikon and Houghton, P.C., in 2010.

Earning a Bachelor of Science at New York Institute of Technology and Doctor of Jurisprudence at Brooklyn Law School, followed by a Master of Laws at New York University, Mr. Rikon was soon after admitted to the New York Bar Association, the Southern and Eastern Districts of the U.S. District Court, the Second, Fifth and 11th Circuits of the U.S. Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Becoming an assistant corporation counsel for the City of New York in 1969, Mr. Rikon first gained experience in condemnation, which later became his one true passion. By 1973, he had become a law clerk for the New York State Court of Claims, where he remained for seven years before becoming partner at Rudick and Rikon, P.C.

A frequent lecturer on the law of eminent domain who has contributed articles to various professional journals in his area of expertise, Mr. Rikon is also a blog contributor for "Bulldozers at Your Doorstep" and contributor to the "New York Law Journal." Currently a New York State designated eminent domain attorney for the Owners' Council of America, Mr. Rikon is a former assistant corporation counsel of condemnation for the division for the City of New York. He is also an elected fellow of the American Bar Foundation, longtime member and chair of the condemnation committee of the American Bar Association, member and condemnation law special committee member of the New York Bar Association, member and condemnation committee member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and member and director of the Owners Counsel of America, among others.

Named a Top Lawyer of New York, to Best Lawyers in Eminent Domain and Condemnation Law in New York and to Super Lawyers for Eminent Domain Law, Mr. Rikon also received a 2006 Business Leadership Award from NYIT Alumni Federal and has been rated an AV-Rated Preeminent Attorney through Martindale-Hubbell. Furthermore, he has been cited in more than 60 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in the World.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Rikon later served with the SSGT 99th Signal Battalion in the U.S. Army Reserves. Married to his wife Leslie Sharon Rein since 1968, he is the father of two children and grandfather of three.
