Dr. Neiberger began his career first as an intern and then as a resident in pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York from 1982 to 1985. From 1985 to 1988, he was a fellow in pediatric nephrology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Following these appointments, he held the position of assistant professor at the College of Medicine for the University of Florida from 1988 to 1993, where he later served as an associate professor from 1993 to 2015. During this period, he excelled as the medical director of pediatrics at Renal Stone Disease Clinic from 1996 to 2015. Dr. Neiberger retired from a fulfilling career in medicine in 2015.

In addition to his career in academia, Dr. Neiberger was the associate medical director at the Children's Kidney Center in Gainesville, Florida from 1989 to 2011, physician advisor at Florida Medical Quality Assurance in Tampa, Florida from 1994 to 2002, and on a research peer review committee for the American Heart Association from 1997 to 1999. Dr. Neiberger has been a member of the advisory committee on organ transplantation in since 2002, for which he became chairman in 2011 and president from 2014 to 2015. He was the president of the College of Medicine faculty council at University of Florida from 2008 to 2009 and vice chair of the institutional review board at the University of Florida in 2001. Dr. Neiberger has been working as principal investigator in a study for the Food and Drug Administration since 2017.

Prior to his tenure, Dr. Neiberger received a Bachelor of Science in physics from University of Central Florida in 1971. Following this accomplishment, he received a Doctor of Philosophy from University of Louisville in 1979 and his Doctor of Medicine from University of Louisville in 1982. Dr. Neiberger is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and the National Board of Medical Examiners.

Dr. Neiberger has also worked with the Children's Home Society in Gainesville, Florida from 1994 to 2002 and with the Ronald McDonald House from 1996 to 2007. He has contributed articles to several professional journals as well. Likewise, Dr. Neiberger is a member of the American Medical Association, Florida Medical Association, American Society of Nephrology, International Pediatric Nephrology Association, the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology and the Florida Society of Pediatric Nephrology.

Dr. Neiberger has been recognized as one of the Best Pediatricians in America, Best Doctors in Florida and Best Doctors of America. He was also a grantee of CoInvest in Bethesda, Maryland from 1995 to 2004. Dr. Neiberger has previously been selected for inclusion in the 6th Edition of Who's Who in American Education, the 26th Edition of Who's Who in the South and Southwest, and in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in Science and Engineering and Who's Who in the World.
