KENNETT SQUARE, PA, September 14, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Adelbert Tweedie, Ph.D., with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Tweedie celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A former captain for the U.S. Army's Chemical Corps, Dr. Tweedie pursued chemistry as a career path because he was inspired by his father, a high school chemistry teacher, and he grew up in Midland, MI, the home of The Dow Chemical Company. After graduating with a doctorate, he joined Dow Chemical as a research chemist. Subsequently, he worked in the same role for Aerojet-GenCorp and as a technology supervisor for the Union Carbide Company. Over the years, he has also lent his expertise to General Electric, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and Devon Associates, where he worked as chief scientist until his retirement in 1995. Out of a career of highlights, the one that stands out the most was serving as manager of material engineering for General Electric's Space Division.

An expert in his field, Dr. Tweedie holds a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the University of Michigan and a Doctor of Philosophy in organic chemistry from the University of Illinois. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, he maintains affiliation with the American Chemical Society and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He also holds membership in the Tredyffrin Easttown School Board. For 50 years, he has been active in the Main Line Unitarian Church where, among other things, he served as president of the board and chair of the construction committee that oversaw the design and construction of new buildings after the old church burned down. Utilizing the knowledge he has gained over the years, he has contributed to numerous articles in professional journals, as well as a biography, "It Takes a Rocket Scientist."

As a testament to his professional success, Dr. Tweedie was featured in the 23rd edition of Who's Who in the East. During his spare time, he made it a point to give back to those less fortunate through Common Cause and Kendall Crosslands Retirement Community. Looking ahead, Dr. Tweedie intends to enjoy his retirement.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Adelbert Tweedie, Ph.D., has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
