CHESHIRE, CT, September 19, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Jerry (Jurij) Roman Lodynsky with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Jerry Roman Lodynsky celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A prominent advertising executive, Mr. Lodynsky established Lodynsky Advertising Design in Cheshire, CT, 38 years ago in 1980. Located just north of New Haven, CT, his successful business has been built on a solid reputation for excellence. He designed two public artworks including the Cheshire Veterans Memorial Plaza in 1990, and a Plaza honoring Cheshire's two Medal of Honor recipients in 1996. In 1994, he designed a U.S. Postal Service cancellation stamp that honored the Town's Tercentennial, and the logo for Cheshire's Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Lodynsky also served as a judge for advertising campaigns for the Connecticut State Library Association between 1983 and 1991.

During his career, Mr. Lodynsky volunteered a lot of his time to promote cultural events in the New Haven area. He served as a publication director, editor and art director for the history of the Ukrainian Community in New Haven, published in 1984. He also served as president of the Cheshire Art League for several years during the 1980s. He recently served as an exhibit advisor for the Jackson Institute of Global Affairs at Yale University, in 2016, and as an advisor for a Cultural Arts Program at the U.N. General Assembly in 2017.

Prior to establishing his own business, Mr. Lodynsky was an art director at Mayo Advertising, Cheshire, CT, 1975 to 1980. However, it was his first position out of college that was his most influential. Hired as a graphic designer by R&R Advertising in Milford, CT, in 1974, Mr. Lodynsky remembers sitting down at his drawing board with Marcel Bich and his son Bruno Bich, founders of the BIC pen corporation. Looking to redesign the logo, he and Mr. Bich wound up designing a new BIC logo along with logos, packaging and displays for the newly released BIC butane lighters.

In the past, Mr. Lodynsky was the recipient of several grants from such organizations as the National Heart Association, as a lab assistant for microbiome research at Yale in 1969, and the State of Connecticut Department of Dramatic Arts, to improve publicity and promotion from 1973 to 1974. His sculptural design "Paradox," a tribute to local veterans, is included in the collection of the Smithsonian Museum of American Art. He received several art awards including a Top 10 in art direction, Advertising Age, 1979; Connecticut Art Directors logo design award in 1980; Hartford Advertising Club illustration award in 1981; Cheshire Art League award for a painting in 2007; and awards for displays at electronics and microelectronics tradeshows in Japan, Europe and the U.S.

As a child, Mr. Lodynsky won the City of New Haven Fire Prevention Poster Contest 3 years in a row in the fourth, fifth and sixth grades. Told that he won again in the sixth grade the selection committee asked him to forgo the award to give other students a chance to receive the award and he agreed to do so. He realized his talent at an early age and decided to pursue it ever since. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Graphic Design from the University of Connecticut in 1974.

Mr. Lodynsky is a Lifetime member of the University of Connecticut Alumni Association. He has been cited in 21st through 23rd editions of Who's Who in the East, as well as the first editions of Who's Who in the Media and Communications and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America. Married to Donna Catherine Langer since 1977, Mr. Lodynsky and she share two sons. When he isn't busy at his firm, he loves to participate in various other artistic endeavors such as painting, going to the theater and enjoying good music.
