BRIGANTINE, NJ, September 25, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present William Henry Curtis, Ph.D., with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Curtis celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Having begun his teaching career at Georgetown University in 1965, Dr. Curtis has continued in that profession for the next 53 years working at various higher education institutions including Camden County College primarily, but also at the Community College of Philadelphia, and periodically as an Adjunct Professor on the Faculty of the Penn State University Graduate School. Since the mid-1960's, he has also worked providing mental health services as a clinical psychologist, on a part-time basis, at various facilities including Catholic University's Marriage Counseling Center (Intern), the Northeast Philadelphia Center for Mental Health/Mental Retardation, Eastern Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute (Intern), and in private practice. He is noted for his personal warmth and positive attitude by those who work with him.

As one of the faculty who founded Camden County College in September 1967 he was able to make his voice known in shaping the development of the College through chairing its first Accreditation Committee, chairing the committee that formulated its Statement on College Governance, and serving for decades as the Psychology Department Chairperson. In the latter capacity, he initiated Associate degree programs in Psychology and in Addictions Counseling. At the present time, Dr. Curtis continues to serve as he has for the past 18 years as the college's most senior faculty member as well as its Commencement Grand Marshall and Mace Bearer.

In addition to having received certifications by the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology, the American Board of Clinical Hypnosis, and the American Board of Marital and Family Therapy, Dr. Curtis holds a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Saint Mary's College, a Bachelor of Sacred Theology from St Mary's University, a Master of Education from Loyola College and a Doctor of Philosophy from Walden University. He also earned a doctoral equivalent at Catholic University. In order to remain aware of new research findings and other developments in his field, he has in past years maintained memberships in various professional groups including the American Psychological Association, the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, the National Association of School Psychologists, and the American Society of Professional Neuropsychologists.

In his spare time over the years, Dr. Curtis has regularly made an effort to help those who are in need through volunteer work with such groups as St. John's Hospice for the Homeless, the Delaware County Medical Corps, the Knights of Columbus, and the American Red Cross. In recognition of his civic, religious and charitable activities, the Vatican State honored him with the conferral of a Papal Knighthood in the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. Dr. Curtis is a long-time member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. He is also a professed member of the Secular Order of Discalsed Carmelites. As he moves in the latter part of 2019, into retirement from teaching, he hopes to do volunteer psychotherapy work with war veterans who have PTSD in his capacity as a State Licensed Clinical Psychologist.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Dr. Curtis has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
