Lectrifi Develops QI-enabled Wireless Charger

Lectrifi says it has launched Qi-compatible charger to test key components.

HONG KONG, October 01, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Hong Kong-based wireless power transfer (WPT) technology pioneer, Lectrifi announced today that it has launched its new C-LECT Wireless charger for Qi-enabled devices.

C-LECT is a charging pad for smartphone and tablet devices which utilizes a wireless power transfer standard known as Qi. The technology enables a user to charge their device by placing it on top of a charging pad.

Lectrifi says that although the new product is aimed at users of a rival technology platform, it is designed to test certain components for use in its own suite of products which it says will offer cross-compatibility to Qi-platform users.

"All the usual benefits of wireless charging there including protecting the device's charging port from the daily wear and tear that arises from connecting and disconnecting charging cables to the device," said Lectrifi's Chief Marketing Officer.

"However, it is the newly-developed multi-oriented charging coils that the device is designed to showcase. Our own controlled tests have shown our pad to charge up to 2.5 times more quickly than the nearest price-compatible Qi charging pad and that's an advantage we want to press home," he added.

The charging pad is able to charge devices even though they are covered with a case. "Many users by default use a case with their device in order to prevent scratches and minor cosmetic damage to what are quite expensive devices. Users don't have to remove the case when using our charging pad unlike others.

The C-LECT device is set to be launched early next year but Lectrifi had yet to provide details of pricing as we went to press.
