With more than 50 years of professional experience, Mr. Whittemore has been the programming director of Datamann since 1979. Prior to obtaining this position, he was a senior programmer with Computac from 1973 to 1979, having held the same role with Joy Manufacturing from 1968 to 1973. Earlier in his career, Mr. Whittemore was a computer programmer with the Cross Company from 1966 to 1968.
Mr. Whittemore began his career with the United States Navy, serving from 1956 to 1960. He subsequently joined the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965. Later in his career, Mr. Whittemore pursued an education with Hawthorne College, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1984.
A respected voice in the field, Mr. Whittemore has been affiliated with a number of organizations in his community. He has been the president of the Claremont Bridge Club since 2006, was the president of the Claremont Men's Softball League in 1980, and was the chess coach at Stevens High School. In 2013 he competed in the triple jump in the National Senior Olympics and placed fourth overall of all the Senior Olympics held, and that record still currently holds. In 2017, he placed second in the triple jump in the National Senior Games. He also ran the Boston Marathon in 1962. A fellow of the Data Processing Management Association, he is a past post commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Whittemore is a member of the Knights of Columbus and the board of directors of Circle 8 Square Dance.
Throughout his career, Mr. Whittemore has been recognized for his contributions. He has been featured in numerous honors publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in the East, and Who's Who in the World. In his free time, Mr. Whittemore enjoys running, chess, softball, reading, bicycling, the long jump, and the triple jump. He is married to Lois and has a daughter named Debbie.
