Dr. Thomas Buschbach Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Dr. Buschbach has worked as a geologist within the Champaign, IL area since 1951. He began his professional career as a geologist specializing in structural geology, stratigraphy, and underground storage of natural gas at the Illinois Geological Survey from 1951 to 1978. During this time, he began working as the coordinator of the New Madrid Seismotectonic Study for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission from 1976 to 1985, and as a research professor in geology at St. Louis University from 1978 to 1985.

Dr. Buschbach also received a fellowship from the Geological Society of America. When the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission asked him to coordinate the regional earthquake hazard study, he worked with Vanderbilt University, Purdue University, and many other top schools and professionals in his industry. Prior to pursuing an education, Dr. Buschbach served up to a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Naval Reserve from 1942 to 1947.

When he got out of the U.S. Navy, Dr. Buschbach attended the University of Illinois, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in 1950, a Master of Science in 1951, and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1959. Dr. Buschbach is listed in several editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the Midwest, and Who's Who in the World.
