A highly accomplished energy manager with nearly 40 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Osborn is currently retired, having most recently served as sales manager for Energy Performance Lighting. Prior to this post, he worked as an energy program manager and senior business developer for the State of Wisconsin's Department of Administration. Mr. Osborn began his career as a mechanical engineer for Stanley Consultants in 1978 before joining the United States Army Armaments, Munitions and Chemical Command as a general engineer in 1982. Beginning in 1989, Mr. Osborn would spend the following 20 years of his career as energy program manager at Rock Island Arsenal.
Mr. Osborn studied at the University of Iowa, receiving a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering in 1978. In 2006, he resumed his education, earning a Master of Engineering in Professional Practice from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Osborn has managed more than $300 million worth of construction projects, including centrifugal chillers, industrial processes, hydroelectric, heating plant modernization, lighting, building automation, heating and cooling system projects, wind and solar energy projects and water efficiency. He developed an internationally recognized energy efficiency program for the State of Wisconsin, a nationally recognized energy conservation program at Rock Island Arsenal, and state-of-the-art LED lighting projects.
Mr. Osborn has been the recipient of numerous honors, including the International Energy Program Manager of the Year from the Association of Energy Engineers in 2012, Federal Energy Management Award from the United States Department of Energy in 1993, 2007, and 2008, the Secretary of the Army Energy and Water Management Award in 1998, 2004, 2005, and 2007, and the United States Department of Energy Champion Award in 2008.
Mr. Osborn is a certified energy manager and member of the Association of Energy Engineers. In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Osborn was selected for inclusion in the 30th edition of Who's Who in Finance and Industry and multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who in Science and Engineering.
