Thomas Van Dyke has been recipient of memberships in Omicron Delta Kappa, the Arthur Priest Award by Phi Delta Theta and honored as a member of the Order of the Coif and the American Law Institute.

Mr. Van Dyke began his career as an attorney with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. from 1963 to 1964. Following this appointment, he held the position of legal assistant to Commissioner Hamer H. Budge in Washington, D.C. from 1964 to 1965. From 1965 to 1991, he progressed from associate to partner with Linde, Thomson, Langworthy, Kohn & Van Dyke PC in Kansas City, Missouri and Overland Park, Kansas. After this opportunity, he was a partner with Bryan Cave LLP, now Bryan, Cave, Leighton, Paisner LLP, in Overland Park, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri from 1991 to 2016. Mr. Van Dyke has been active as senior counsel to Bryan, Cave, Leighton, Paisner LLP since 2016.

Prior to embarking on his career, Mr. Van Dyke received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kansas in 1960. Following this accomplishment, he earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Michigan in 1963. Mr. Van Dyke received his bar certification from the state of Missouri in 1963 and the state of Kansas in 1983.

In addition to his career, Mr. Van Dyke was on the securities advisory panel to the Secretary of State of Missouri from 1984 to 1989. He was also co-chair of the American Law Institute and American Bar Association Tax and Business Planning Seminar from 1987 to 1996 and 2005 to 2008. In 1966, he became one of the first Big Brothers in Kansas City, Missouri.

Mr. Van Dyke was further associated with Big Brothers Big Sisters as president of Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City from 1978 to 1979. From 2015 to 2018, he was chair of the capital campaign for Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City. Mr. Van Dyke held the position of president with the Kansas City, Missouri United States Junior Chamber from 1970 to 1971 and chair of the Human Relations Commission for Kansas City, Missouri from 1980 to 1981.

Mr. Van Dyke served as co-chair of Harmony in a World of Difference from 1985 to 1986. From 1998 to 2018, he was active as chair for the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast in Overland Park, Kansas, and on the board of directors for the Johnson County Community College Foundation from 2008 to 2018. He also served on the board of directors for the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, the board of governors for the American Royal Association and the board of directors for the American Royal Arena Corporation. Mr. Van Dyke has also been published in the Michigan Law Review.

Mr. Van Dyke is a member of the American Bar Association, where he served in the Business Law Section on the Federal Regulation of Securities Committee from 1982 to 2010 and the Mergers and Acquisitions Committee from 1989 to 2010. He also belongs to the Missouri Bar Association. He was honored among the top four graduates of his class in high school, college, and law school and has been inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He has been recipient of memberships in Omicron Delta Kappa, the Arthur Priest Award by Phi Delta Theta and honored as a member of the Order of the Coif and the American Law Institute as well. Mr. Van Dyke has previously been selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the Midwest and Who's Who in the World.
