Working with businesses by offering quantitative analysis to analyze research, development and manufacturing processes and product development, Pryor Knowledge Systems, Inc. also provides technical consulting, modeling, simulation, and training services. Notably, the company specializes in crack detection, materials properties, heat transference, thermal process modeling, electronic device modeling, semiconductors, and research mathematical and exploratory mathematical modeling.

In his current role since 2012, Dr. Pryor previously served as the vice president of the Pryor Knowledge Systems, Inc. between 1993 and 2012. He is also a former associate professor and professor of manufacturing research at Wayne State University from 1988 to 2002, where he led research teams in the development and characterization of semiconductor materials and devices. Recognized for his work in materials research, electronics technology and electronics applications, Dr. Pryor has garnered extensive expertise in the industrial arena.

In addition to upholding his own technical consulting firm as president of R.W. Pryor & Associates in Detroit between 1986 and 1993, Dr. Pryor was employed with Energy Conversion Devices, Inc., in Troy, Mich. where he led advanced research teams. He also devoted nearly a decade of his career to Pitney Bowes in Norwalk, Conn., serving as a senior physicist and manager of advanced technology and microanalysis between 1976 and 1984. Prior to these appointments, Dr. Pryor worked for Bell Laboratories as a senior member of the technical staff in Whippany, N.J. between 1972 and 1976.

Completing service in the United States Navy between 1958 and 1962, Dr. Pryor later obtained a Bachelor of Science in physics at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1968. He would conclude his studies at the Pennsylvania State University, earning a Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy in physics in 1971 and 1972, respectively. Additionally, Dr. Pryor is a COMSOL certified consultant.

A lifetime senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the chairman of the Standards Electron Development Society, Dr. Pryor is also a longtime member of the New York Academy of Sciences and Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Honor Society. The author of six books and numerous research papers, one of which has been cited approximately 500 times, his most recent book is a college text, "Dimensional Analysis for Unit Conversion Using MATLAB" published on Sept 26, 2018. Likewise, He holds 24 patents in his field to date, most of which are specific to semiconductor devices. In honor of his work, Dr. Pryor has been cited in the 25th edition of Who's Who in Finance and Industry.
