    HACKENSACK, NJ, October 23, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Robert Kern Curtis with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Curtis celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Since 1985, Mr. Curtis has been working as a sole practitioner in Hackensack, NJ. Before this, he was a teacher at Hackensack High School from 1969 to 2006 and at Xavier High School in New York City from 1967 to 1969. In 1967, he was a director of the Jesuit Seminary and Mission Bureau in New York City. His first professional role was as a teacher at Brooklyn Preparatory School from 1965 to 1967. He also spent time as a law teacher at Hackensack Evening School in 1980 and as a teacher of law for other teachers in the Hackensack Public Schools in 1986.

Mr. Curtis' interest in law began at a young age, but he also has always had a fascination with physics and he had an inspiring physics teacher in high school. He practiced law part time so that he could continue to teach physics. Once he discovered his goals, he began his formal education at Fordham University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in physics in 1964 and a Master of Science in education in 1970. He attended Woodstock College and received a Licentiate in Philosophy in 1965.

Ultimately, Mr. Curtis obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Seaton Hall University in 1985. Additionally, he earned admission to the New Jersey Bar in 1985. He also holds certification from New Jersey as a teacher of mathematics, physical science, Latin and as a supervisor. Similarly, the State of New York certified him as a teacher of mathematics and physical science.

As an established professional, Mr. Curtis has written numerous articles in addition to his 1965 work "Hans Küng on Karl Barth," Jubilee, July 1965. Civically, he has served on the advisory board of the Holly Center in Hackensack, 1980 to 1987, and has served on the governing board of the Holmstead School in Ridgewood, NJ since 1986 serving in the roles of vice president and treasurer. Aside from his professional pursuits he enjoys HAM radio as K2RLW.

In order to remain aware of information in his fields, Mr. Curtis maintains membership with such prestigious organizations as the American Physical Society, the American Civil Liberties Union, the American Association of Physics Teachers, and Mensa International. He is a former member of the New York Academy of Sciences and has been the local group president of Northern New Jersey Mensa since 2013. Additionally, he was president of the Hackensack Education Association from 1979 to 1981 and again from 1997 to 2004. He considers his election to this role to be the highlight of his career. As a testament to his professional success, Mr. Curtis has previously been featured in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in the East.
