With more than 30 years of professional experience, Mr. Fuller was a geologist IV with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Geological Surveys from 2002 to 2005, having been a geologist III since 1978. Prior to obtaining these positions, he was a teaching assistant with Western Michigan University from 1975 to 1977, also serving as a field assistant in 1976. Earlier in his career, Mr. Fuller was a teaching research assistant at Fairleigh Dickenson University in 1975, having previously served the school as a laboratory assistant from 1973 to 1974.
Mr. Fuller initially intended to pursue a career in chemistry and began his career as a student at Hope College. However, he found that he had a talent for geology and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in the subject in 1971. He then spent two and a half years working at a West Indies Lab on Saint Croix in the USVI. He went there to do alternative service as a conscientious objector. He then joined the University of Wisconsin, completing postgraduate coursework in 1974. Mr. Fuller concluded his studies at Western Michigan University, earning a Master of Science in geology in 1978.
A respected voice in the field, Mr. Fuller has been affiliated with a number of organizations in his community. A past member of the Sandusky Bay Area Food Cooperative, he has also been active with Harlequins Community Theater and the International Torch. He is a trustee of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, and a member, former trustee and past president of the Sandusky Community Theatre. Mr. Fuller has written several articles in professional publications, authored the "USGS Open File Report," and he was the editor of "Guidebook to the Geology and Ecology of Some Marine and Terrestrial Environments."
Throughout his career, Mr. Fuller has been recognized for his contributions. He has been featured in numerous honors publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in America and Who's Who in Science and Engineering.
