Scott Woodward demonstrates mastery in holistic marketing and youth empowerment campaigns

Scott Woodward is a notable American marketing and branding executive having held strategic leadership positions across various prestigious organizations, establishing himself as a luminary in the realm of holistic, integrated marketing. His journey in the brand marketing space began after completing his MBA, in Chevron's corporate in-house training program, where he worked as a marketing assistant. Following his time there, Mr. Woodward's talent for crafting compelling brand narratives propelled him to become the first director of global image marketing at Ray-Ban, then owned by Bausch & Lomb.

For nearly 10 years, Mr. Woodward honed his skill set and shaped Ray-Ban's global marketing strategies. As a result of his contributions and accomplishments on endeavors that included the global movie integration Men in Black featuring Ray-Ban sunglasses and opening the first retail flagship store as part of the brand's Olympic sponsorship, his upward career trajectory continued, landing him the title of vice president of global retail marketing and public relations at Calvin Klein in 1997. His expertise in 360-degree global brand positioning was further amplified during his tenure as senior vice president and global chief marketing officer at Movado Group Inc., a position he held from 1998 to 2000, increasing the visibility of the company's portfolio of luxury watch brands.

After Movado Group, Mr. Woodward transitioned to Arnell Group, where he was a longtime client and collaborator with its founder before its sale to the Omnicom Group and where he consulted as the company's executive vice president of brand strategy and creative. Mr. Woodward has always demonstrated an exceptional capacity and ability to drive brand growth and consumer engagement on an international scale, which propelled him to pursue his own entrepreneurial venture. In 2006, Mr. Woodward channeled his extensive professional experience as an in-house marketing and branding executive to found SEW Branded, a New York based brand marketing consultancy.

Mr. Woodward has continued to lead his consultancy as the chief executive officer and chief creative officer, which has become synonymous with innovative marketing collaborations and design-driven creative that resonates with global consumers. Along with focusing on the growth of his marketing and branding consultancy, Mr. Woodward joined Parsons School of Design, a part of The New School, as an adjunct faculty member within the Strategic Design & Management Department to share his knowledge with the next generation of marketers, with whom he continues to mentor and advise.

Most recently, Mr. Woodward joined the board of advisors for Pneuma, consulting on marketing, branding, public relations and strategic alliances that will guide this bio-technology company into the next generation of sustainable materials with living, breathing, evolving structures that can self-heal, clean and photosynthesize with applications in apparel, furniture and other design-driven products.

He also was recently named to We Are The Board, where he will serve in fractional Chief Marketing / Brand / Creative Officer roles as part of this vibrant aggregator community of thought leaders, influencers, creatives and strategists for world-class emerging and existing global businesses and brands in diverse sectors that include consumer beauty, tech, fashion and luxury.

In all he has pursued and accomplished professionally, Mr. Woodward's academic background laid the foundation for his success. He attended Saint Leo University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in marketing and management and served as the inaugural collegiate chapter president of the American Marketing Association. His undergraduate classmates bestowed the senior superlative, Most Likely to Succeed. Mr. Woodward subsequently completed a Master of Business Administration at Loyola University New Orleans a year later, while also completing coursework toward a Master of Science in human organization at Villanova University.

Mr. Woodward's commitment to education, coupled with his passion for community service, is exemplified through the connection he has maintained with his alma maters. Recently, he became a member of the Presidential Visiting Committee at Loyola University New Orleans advising its College of Music & Media.

In addition, Mr. Woodward has fostered positive social change through his ongoing involvement with anti-bullying initiatives and campaigns, having raised over $2 million dollars collectively for Lady Gaga's newly launched Born This Way Foundation and one year later with One Direction for Office Depot's Foundation, having created anti-bullying educational programs for over 1,000 schools across America. He conceived the platform for their back-to-school marketing that would engage in a dialogue with younger consumers that spoke to parents, teachers, and youth to help end bullying in schools.

His firm's inventive youth empowerment collaborations have won the Clio, IAC, and Summit International Awards, and garnered Woodward Hetrick Martin's prestigious Emery Award in 2013 for his work in raising corporate awareness of anti-bullying and creating kinder school environments. He was also named to George Wayne's Downtown 100 List, as one of the most influential New Yorkers in 2022. Most recently, Mr. Woodward paid tribute to the late icon, actress and friend Farrah Fawcett on what would have been her 77th birthday in a piece he co-wrote in People magazine.
