COATESVILLE, PA, January 04, 2010, Charles J. Mode, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of Mathematics for Drexel University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of academia and research.
A 41-year teaching veteran, Charles J. Mode, Ph.D. has served as Drexel University's Professor Emeritus of Mathematics for the past decade. Over the course of his extensive career, he has developed research interests in the epidemiology of infectious diseases, genetics, bioinformatics, Markov chains and processes, software engineering, Monte Carlo simulation, stochastic models in biostatistics and methods of statistical inference and data analysis. His research has been featured in high-profile scholarly publications including the Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndromes, Human Biology and Mathematical Biosciences. Dr. Mode also authored "Multi-Type Branching Processes-Theory and Application," published by Elsevier Publishing Company, "Stochastic Processed in Demography and Their Computer Implementation," published by Springer-Verlag and "Stochastic Processed in Epidemiology - HIV/AIDS and Other Infections," published by World Scientific Publishing Company.
In recognition of professional contributions to the field of academia, Dr. Mode was presented with an achievement award by Drexel University in 1979 and received honors from North Dakota State University in 1952. Most recently, he was named "Professional of the Year" by Cambridge Publishing for the 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ --2010 year.
Dr. Mode completed a post-doctoral fellowship in statistics at North Carolina State University in 1957 and holds a Ph.D. in genetics from the University of California, earned in 1956. He earned a master of science in genetics from Kansas State University in 1953 and a bachelor of science in genetics from North Dakota State University in 1952. His professional affiliations include the Institute of Mathematical Statistics. Going forward, Dr. Mode intends to complete his latest book on genetics and mathematics and have it published by World Scientific Publishing Company in Asia.
