Press Release November 3, 2009
Debbie Goodrich has devoted her career to training and caring for animals

AUBURN, WA, November 3, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Debbie Goodrich, Owner of Fins, Fur and Feathers LLC, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in animal training.

As the owner and sole employee of Fins, Fur and Feathers LLC, Mrs. Goodrich is responsible for all her business's administrative duties including but not limited to: organizing and conducting shows; training birds for shows, grooming or husbandry; record keeping; regulations; website production; and manufacturing of toys. An avid animal lover, she enjoys working with any animal--parrots, fish, horses and dogs are just a few she's had experience with. She wrote several articles about parrots, her current specialty, in the national magazine, Good Bird and has been on local radio station KZOK's The Bob Rivers Show. Mrs. Goodrich's career interest in parrots and fish began at Rainforest Cafe in 1996 where she was quickly promoted to Curator in 1999. When the Cafe's parrot program was retired, she began The Parrot Lady Educational Entertainment in 2001 as a licensed business with the Cafe's parrots, continuing the successful educational campaign.

Her passion for animals was consummated with attaining her Bachelor's Degree in Psychobiology from the University of California. Her work while attending the school reflects her degree of determination as she was hand-selected out of 120 candidates to participate in a research team to study elephant seals. She also opted to write a 60 page research paper for her senior graduation requirement about the reintroduction of bottlenose dolphins, which received honors. She attributes her success in her endeavors to her passion, drive and persistence.

Mrs. Goodrich is a professional member of IAATE and ABMA where ABMA requires sponsorship for membership. She supports IMATA, The World Wildlife Fund, The World Parrot Trust, Parrots International and The Tambopata Research Project. She has contributed research for a paper published by the Tambopata Research Project about Mauritia Flexuosa palms in her efforts to support the ongoing examination of the natural world and what role parrots play in it. She hopes to write many kinds of books, give professional lectures, consult for zoos or potentially develop or participate in a TV program.
