Seminar Agenda
Dealing proactively with compliance regulations is a must in the maritime industry, and the goal for this seminar is to assist with informed decision-making. Emissions Control Areas (ECA) instituted a reduction of NOx and SOx emissions in shipping starting in January 2015. MARPOL Annex VI is intended to implement a 0.5% Sulphur content of bunker fuels "globally" by 2020 or 2025. These will have major implications for both ship operators and bunkering suppliers alike.
To accommodate these new requirements, it is crucial to understand and weigh all options to best achieve compliance...starting now. This two-day interactive seminar features a panel of industry experts to discuss one of our industry's most talked about new trends...LNG as Marine Fuel. Participants will take part in active discussions on topics including:
- Drivers of change
- Understanding of LNG and its relevance as a marine fuel
- How to influence regulation, standardization and safety
- Case studies and cost benefit analysis
At the seminar's conclusion, participants will have the tools and knowledge to determine if LNG as Marine Fuel is a viable option for their organization in achieving new ECA Compliance Standards. They will also be aware of the key players in the industry as well as how LNG as a Marine Fuel will evolve.
Expected panelists for the two day seminar to be held September 22-23 in Houston, Texas include Commander Gretchen Bailey of the U.S. Coast Guard; John Hatley, Vice President, Ship Power, Wartsila: Cheryl Stahl, Navigation and Environment Risk, Det Norske Veritas (U.S.A); Renee Klimczak, Managing Director, Galway Group Energy Advisors: Aziz Bamik, General Manager, GTT North America; Adthisaya Ganesan Manickam, Maritime industry expert formerly with MISC Berhad, Tony Teo, Director, Technology and Business Maritime, Keppel, and Aaron Brown, Det Norske Veritas (U.S.A).
President and CEO of both ECM Maritime Services and ECM Training Services, Mike Minogue comments, "We are excited to provide these specialized seminars to complement our training courses. With the launch of ECM Training Services, the ECM Group can conveniently provide important information on upcoming new industry trends, such as this seminar for LNG as a marine fuel, very affordably and efficiently to a broad-based maritime audience."
