    LARCHMONT, NY, July 21, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- There's no summer slowdown at Clarke Auction, Westchester County New York's Premier Auction Gallery. Their successful June 4th and 25th sales and the July 23rd auction offerings at the Larchmont art and antiques auction house are proof positive that Clarke's is not on summer recess.

The July 23rd auction includes an extensive assortment of Asian offerings featuring a pair of important Chinese porcelain lidded urns (lot 36, pictured.) Also of a note is a large and magnificent pair of 5' high Asian Ancestral Portraits. Other highlights include approximately 30 lots of vintage carved ivory figures - some signed, signed bronze charger, vintage ivory or bone puzzle ball on stand, large pair of carved or cast stone Indian figures, large bronze Buddha, antique Asian porcelain, Chinese Famille Noire vase, Famille Rose planter and vase, enamel champleve vase, blue & white porcelain, black mirror porcelain urn, Asian watercolors and scrolls, Chinese carved celadon vase/lamp, assorted netsukes, carved hardstone pieces, large signed Japanese lacquer panel of Mount Fuji, antique Japanese bronze umbrella holder, Japanese woodblock prints, and figural Blanc de Chine lamp and much more.

Furniture highlights include four 19th Century French Boulle pieces, among them is a magnificent Bonheur du Jour ladies' writing desk (lot 83, pictured). Other highlights are a beautiful classical style shell inlaid center table, Victorian jeweled credenza with copper plaques, Continental carved center table, pietra dura pedestal table, antique English drop leaf table, Louis XVI style marquetry inlaid marble top commode, French iron and milk glass top table, pair of Biedermeier end tables, pair of Chippendale style sofas, Georgian style settee, velvet covered 2 pedestal sawhorse style console, English Victorian tilt top "loo" table, Kindel server and double pedestal dining table, vintage French ottoman, 18th century needlepoint chair, 4 poster metal bed with cat finials and more.

Art this month features some significant and varied pieces. Among them is a potentially important 19th century Hudson River O/C landscape depicting American Indian encampments, signed indecipherably (lot 64, pictured). Another important work is a 20th century pencil signed lithograph (85 of 175) by African-American artist, Romare Bearden. Other art work includes a beautifully executed still life O/C by Keith Shaw Williams, a James Lechay gouache, an oil on wood portrait of a Rabbi by Adolph Behrmann, a C. Marko oil on board landscape, a coastal watercolor by Alfred Bricher, a large oil on canvas attrib. John Faed, a gesso and oil on fiberglass relief of figures by Jack Lubin, an (old) John Crome moonlit landscape oil, a Picasso framed enamel, a Rembrandt etching, an after Tamayo silkscreen, a signed Wagner K.P.M. porcelain portrait plaque, a signed V. Szczeblewski bronze, classical bronzes figures, bone/ivory miniatures, Asian scrolls, and much more.

Midcentury Modern lots this month include a midcentury Asian style burl walnut dining set (lot 124, pictures). Other midcentury offerings include Karl Springer pedestal and table, signed and dated Silas Seandel torch welded mixed metal console, Brazilian rosewood sofa, rosewood cabinet and end tables, unique 3 panel midcentury screen painted by Sister Parish, assorted "Medallion" outdoor furniture, Camer style 3 tier chandelier, Seguso obelisks and figures, C. Jere metal sculpture, Harvey Probber bedroom set, chrome ball lamp by Robert Sonneman, Kagan style rocking chair, B.
