Kathleen McCafferty, M.Div., Honored for Excellence in Ministry Services

Kathleen McCafferty was one of the first 12 clergy women to be ordained in the Illinois Great Rivers Conference



    ROCHESTER, IL, August 17, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kathleen McCafferty, Clergy of The United Methodist Church, has been recognized as a VIP member by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in ministry services.

Ms. McCafferty received a calling to the religious life when she was 16 years old. Today, she possesses 32 years of professional ministry experience and expertise in pastoral care and counseling. She serves as a member of the clergy for The United Methodist Church. Her role entails promoting spiritual development, counseling, praying, meditating, preaching and studying religious materials. She also provides back-up pastoral services in the absence of the directing pastors, conducts hospital visits, attends funerals and weddings, and teaches a confirmation class. Having provided spritual support for people in the 12-step recovery program, Ms. McCafferty attributes her success to her faith in God.

In 1982, Ms. McCafferty earned a master's degree in divinity from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. She was one of the first 12 clergy women to be ordained in the Illinois Great Rivers Conference. Additionally, she was the first woman to serve on the conference board. Ms. McCafferty has been featured on television and radio stations in Central Illinois. In order to further spread her message to a wider audience, she is currently writing two books: one on spirituality and one on prayer and meditation.
