Professor Yung Frank Chiang Receives International Acclaim for Commitment to Legal Education

Mr. Chiang has served as a professor at Fordham University School of Law since 1976



His article, "The Characterization of a Vessel as a Common or Private Carrier," was cited in Gilmore and Black's The Law of Admiralty and by three federal courts in support of relevant judgments.

    NEW YORK, NY, December 08, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Yung Frank Chiang has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Long before he became a renowned educator in the field of law, Mr. Chiang received a Bachelor of Laws from National Taiwan University. He came to the United States in 1961 and attended Northwestern University, where he received a Master of Laws in 1962. Mr. Chiang went on to receive a JD from the University of Chicago in 1965 before joining Harvard Law School as a research associate in law. At the sponsorship of Harvard University, he became an U.S. resident. His career as a law educator officially began in 1967, when he joined The University of Georgia School of Law as an assistant professor. Since 1976, Mr. Chiang has served as a professor at Fordham University School of Law. He also recently visited Tokyo, where he lectured as a visiting professor at Chuo University.

Admitted to practice in Taiwan and New York State, Mr. Chiang is a member of the New York State Bar Association and Order of the Coif. His previous associations include The Taiwan Merchants Association of New York, where he served as president from 1980 to 1984, North America Taiwanese Professors' Association, where he served as president from 1998 to 1999, and the National Association of Securities Dealers, for which he was an arbitrator for 20 years. In an effort to expand the scope of his reach, Mr. Chiang has contributed numerous articles to professional journals around the world. One of these articles, titled "The Characterization of a Vessel as a Common or Private Carrier," was cited in Gilmore and Black's The Law of Admiralty and by three federal courts in support of relevant judgments.

In recognition of his commitment to the legal profession, Mr. Chiang was the recipient of the 20th Century Achievement Award from the International Biographical Centre in 1995. Additionally, he has been featured in a wide variety of honors publications, including Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in the World. He was also recently recognized with the Marquis Who's Who Lifetime Achievement Award.
