With more than 18 years of professional experience, Ms. Lazarus specializes in emphasizing strength and creating a supportive classroom environment to promote understanding and tolerance. She is responsible for motivating students to learn, assisting children with various disabilities and modifying general education curriculum to meet the children's individual learning needs. She received the Teacher of the Year Award in 2007, attributes her success to her goal-oriented nature and the support she receives from her students.

Ms. Lazarus received a Master of Science in Special Education from Mercyhurst College and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, in India. She is a certified mathematics teacher and has completed English for speakers of other languages endorsement program. She volunteers as a Sunday school teacher at a local church.
