Marquis Who's Who Selects Jonathan Baselice for Success in Immigration and Immigration Policy

Mr. Jonathan Baselice is lauded for his work with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce

FAIRFAX, VA, May 02, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jonathan Baselice has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Baselice is the Vice President of Immigration Policy for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Having joined the Chamber in 2014, he rose from the director of immigration policy to the executive director of immigration policy between 2019 and 2021. In his latest role, Mr. Baselice is tasked with formulating pro-growth immigration policies on behalf of the U.S. business community and advocating for those policies before Congress and executive branch officials across multiple federal agencies. He is also a proven problem-solver for companies, as he has helped many American businesses navigate the federal government's significant processing delays to ensure that their workforce needs are met in a timely fashion.

Among several noteworthy accomplishments since joining the Chamber, Mr. Baselice and his colleagues reformed the Visa Waiver Program, which has both markedly improved U.S. national security and helped facilitate international travel to the U.S. He also played a pivotal role in ensuring that the EB-5 Regional Center Program was reauthorized and reformed in 2022. He has helped lead several successful litigation efforts with his colleagues in the U.S. Chamber Litigation Center that prevented the implementation of regulatory policies that would have significantly curtailed legal immigration to the U.S. He also has been instrumental in ensuring that the federal government has temporarily raised the annual visa caps for seasonal, nonagricultural H-2B visa workers.

Mr. Baselice continues to work diligently with members of Congress and the executive branch of the federal government to overcome various obstacles for foreign national workers seeking to come to the U.S. Looking toward the future, he is hopeful that U.S. immigration laws will be reformed to help businesses meet their workforce needs more effectively and enhance the nation's ability to secure itself and its borders.

Before joining the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Baselice found success as a legislative correspondent, senior legislative correspondent, and legislative assistant in the Office of U.S. Senator Marco Rubio between 2011 and 2014. He also worked closely with Pam Bondi's Campaign for Florida Attorney General in 2010.

Mr. Baselice has established himself as a well-respected thought leader on U.S. immigration policy. He has testified before legislative committees at the federal and state level. He has been featured on several podcasts as an expert in his field, including the Immigration Nerds Podcast and the Bipartisan Policy Center's This Week in Immigration podcast. His opinions on immigration matters have been sought out in several media outlets, such as the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, the New York Times, NBC, the Financial Times, The Washington Post, Fox News, and Forbes. He has spoken publicly before various professional and trade associations.

Mr. Baselice graduated from Bethlehem Central High School. He was a dual-major in Economics and Political Science at Syracuse University in 2007. He received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Miami in 2010. Mr. Baselice has been admitted to practice law by the New York and Florida Bar Associations.

Affiliated with several professional organizations, Mr. Baselice is a member of the Florida Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Republican National Lawyers Association. He is also an active member of the Migration Policy Institute's Advisory Board. In light of his accomplishments, he was recognized as one of the Top 25 EB-5 Attorneys by EB-5 Investors Magazine in 2019. He currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the H-2B Workforce Coalition, the leading association for small and seasonal businesses that rely upon foreign nationals to meet their seasonal workforce needs.
