DBS_Interactive Creates Cutting-Edge Medical Game to Test Medical Knowledge

    LOUISVILLE, KY, June 20, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In cooperation with UofL Physicians, DBS Interactive today launched the "Academic Physician Precision Challenge," an interactive quiz inspired by a popular board game. The cutting-edge game invites users to test their knowledge of the placement of organs within the human body.

"The game's cutting-edge features include a JavaScript-based drag and drop interface, HTML5 sound effects, and CSS3 animations -- each of which enhances the user experience in a fun and unique way," said Mark Shelton, Art Director for DBS Interactive.

The game's creation arose from a need to communicate the advantages of choosing an Academic Physician. "Academic physicians have always been at the forefront of medical research, and they have made many contributions to the field of medicine," said Diane Partridge, vice president of Marketing and Communications for University of Louisville Physicians. "They are among the best in their fields, and we wanted a way to tell patients why they would want to choose an academic physician for their health care needs."

After game users successfully place an organ in its correct location, visitors are presented with an example of a ground-breaking discovery from an academic physician that revolutionized medicine in that practice area.

Game users who incorrectly place an organ are greeted with a loud buzz and shake. Upon completion of the challenge, creative badges are given to users based on their total number of errors.

"Games are meant to be social, so we wanted a way for game participants to involve others," said Shelton. "Creative badges that can be shown off through social media made the most sense. It becomes a sort of competition with your friends to see who is smarter."
