An engineer with a passion for research, writing and sharing his knowledge with other professionals, Dr. Konkani has dedicated more than 10 years in the field of biomedical engineering as an academic, engineer and research scholar. As a senior member of IEEE, editorial board member of AAMI's BI&T journal, BCPE certified AHFP, he demonstrates expertise in healthcare systems engineering along with human factors engineering. In recognition of his research work and contribution to the field of healthcare technology and patient safety, Dr. Konkani has been in receipt of ACCE's advocacy award, BCBSMF's Excellence in Research Award, and AAMI Scholarship award.
Throughout his education and career, Dr. Konkani has held many roles that allowed him to shape his areas of expertise. He worked as a biomedical engineer for KLE Society's Hospital and Medical Research Center, as an assistant professor of biomedical engineering at Trident Academy of Technology, as a graduate teaching assistant at Oakland University and currently he works as a clinical engineer at the University of Virginia Health System. Dr. Konkani holds a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, a master's degree in biomedical ergonomics engineering, and a Ph.D. in systems engineering. Looking into the future, Dr. Konkani intends to continue his research and publication work to solve the healthcare systems problems and enhance his knowledge by continuous learning and education.
