Aside from administrative duties, teaching classes, and mentoring students, Dr. Headrick acts as a statistician for SIU and his college. He is profoundly interested in statistical computing methodology, mathematical statistics, and Monte Carlo and simulation methods, having published a book, titled "Statistical Simulation: Power Method Polynomials and Other Transformations" in 2011. In recognition of his excellence, he was the recipient of SIU's outstanding scholar award for his college.
Dr. Headrick's education has served as the foundation for his professional successes. He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts from Eastern Michigan University, and a Ph.D. from Wayne State University. He remains at the top of his field through his alignment with the American Education Research Association (AERA), the Psychometric Society, the Mathematics Association of America, the American Statistical Association, the International Association for Statistical Computing and the Institute of Mathematical Statistics. Notably, Dr. Headrick was recently elected program chair of the AERA SIG-Educational Statisticians. As he looks to the future, he intends to continue teaching at SIU while contributing articles and research to scientific journals in his industry.
