Dr. Richard J. Chasdi started his career in political science after graduating from Brandeis University with a Bachelor of Arts in politics in 1981. Four years later, he went on to earn a Master of Arts in political science from Boston College and in 1995, he graduated from Purdue University with a Ph.D. in political science. Currently a management professor at Walsh College in Troy, Mi., Dr. Chasdi has led a prestigious career in science education.
Dr. Chasdi has held several positions over the past two decades, including several adjunct professor stints with Wayne State University. In 1996, he started his career as a member of the adjunct faculty for the Center of Peace and Conflict Studies at Wayne State University, holding this position until 2001. During this time, he also served as an adjunct lecturer of political science and social science at the University of Michigan - Dearborn, and worked with the interdisciplinary studies program at Wayne State University. From 2003 to 2013, Dr. Chasdi served as both an adjunct assistant professor and a fellow at the Center of Peace and Conflict Studies at Wayne State University. He also served as an adjunct associate professor in the department of political science at the University of Windsor in Canada from 2010 to 2013.
A Distinguished Fellow with the Project on National Security Reform, Dr. Chasdi was the recipient of the 2000 Outstanding Academic Title Award by Choice Magazine. He has contributed several articles to professional journals and served as a consultant writer for the Alon Ben Meir Institute from 2008 to 2010. Further, he has sat on the editorial board for Perspectives on Terrorism: A Journal of Terrorism Research Initiative. He has written three books and is in the process of completing one more.
From 2009-2011, Dr. Chasdi served as a deputy team leader, Vision Working Group, with the Project on National Security Reform. He is a Fellow with the Inter-University Seminar Armed Forces and Society, and an Editorial Board member for Armed Forces & Society. He also served as a member of the International Advisory Board for Terrorism: An Electronic Journal (TEJ). He is a member of the American Political Science Association and the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR) Standing Group in Extremism and Democracy. Dr. Chasdi has been featured in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Politics, and Who's Who in the World.
