Dr. McKnight is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Community and Human Services at SUNY/Empire State College and senior author of the Pearson textbook Community Organizing: Theory and Practice. She has served in various roles as a community organizer, mediator, and counselor since 1974, as a college administrator and professor since 1980, and as designer and supervisor of online community and human services courses since 2003--co-coordinating a program which has served thousands of community and human services workers in New York State and around the world. With a compassionate reputation that precedes her, she has met with success because of her ability to share her knowledge with her students and community members. Crediting her success to her education, Dr. McKnight earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and sociology from Allegheny College, a Master of Education in counseling from Gannon College and a Doctor of Education from The Pennsylvania State University.
