Mr. Sengpiehl has held additional noteworthy positions as an assistant attorney general to the court of claims division for the attorney general of Illinois and a hearing referee for the review board of the Illinois Department of Labor. Mr. Sengpiehl's civic work is a testament to his commitment to community. Aside from his professional duties, he has served as the elected committeeman for the Oak Park Township Republican Party. He also served as a member of the small business council for the Oak Park-River Forest Chamber of Commerce which worked with the Oak Park Village. He was previously the local government law columnist for the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. A licensed and ordained minister, Mr. Sengpiehl is involved with initiatives and programs for the American Baptist Cook County Jail Ministry as its Chairman of the Board and also ministers in the Jail. Mr. Sengpiehl maintained affiliation with the Chicago Bar Association, and while he was a member, he was Chairman of the local government committee and of the legislation subcommittee. Although retired from public service, Mr. Sengpiehl intends to continue his reduced private law practice and his ministry at Cook County Jail.
