Frances Lee has been a freelance editor and consultant since 1988. She brings to her clients a wealth of experience from an accomplished career and strong educational foundation. After earning a Bachelor of Arts from Queens College in 1957, she went on to receive a Master of Arts from New York University in 1962. Ms. Lee began her career as an editorial assistant for Christian Herald Family Bookshelf in New York City. She then worked with Gordon & Breach Science Publishers Inc., and served as an editor for American Electric Power Service Corporation's AEP Operating Ideas. From there, she worked for Industrial Water Engineering Magazine prior to becoming the directory editor of the photographic division of United Business Publications. Before deciding to work freelance, Ms. Lee was the editor of the American Druggist Blue Book and special projects coordinator of motor manuals for Hearst Books.
Over the course of her career, Ms. Lee has remained active with several professional organizations. She is a member of New York Business Press Editors, having served on its board of directors from 1988 to 1990, and as secretary from 1990 to 1991. She has chaired the research committee of the Women's Equity Action League, and served as secretary and treasurer of the Villa-Lobos Music Society. From 2008 to 2015, she was secretary of the East End Temple Sisterhood. Ms. Lee is a director emeritus of the New York University Alumni Association, and has served in multiple positions of the organization since 1976. She also supports and has volunteered her time to a number of civic organizations.
Ms. Lee received a certificate of honor from the New York University Alumni Association in 1985, and a meritorious service award in 1986. Her various accomplishments were considered when she was chosen to be featured in the 54th through 70th editions of Who's Who in America, the 1st edition of Who's Who in the Media and Communication, and the 15th through 28th editions of Who's Who of American Women. She has appeared in several editions of Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in the East, and Who's Who in the World.
