TAYLORS, SC, September 15, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. John Carroll Vaughn has been included in Marquis Who's Who. An alumnus of Bob Jones University, Dr. Vaughn achieved a number of degrees, including a Bachelor of Arts, a Master of Ministry, and Doctors of Divinity and Theology. In 1978, he was ordained to the Baptist Church and began his work for Christ at the Faith Baptist Church in Greenville, S.C., where he served as its senior pastor for 30 years. During this time, he founded and directed the Hidden Treasure Christian School and founded Iglesia Bautista de la Fe. Dr. Vaughn now serves as the pastor emeritus of the Faith Baptist Church, having retired formally in 2007.
Dr. Vaughn has been President of the Fundamental Baptist Fellowship, International since 2003 and editor of its bi-monthly publication Frontline Magazine since 1997. He was a co-author of "Special Education: A Biblical Approach," written in 1991, "More Precious than Gold," written in 1994, and the author of "Courage & Compassion The Ministry of Law Enforcement," written in 2012. He served on the executive board of the Associated Gospel Churches from 1987 to 1993, and has been chaplain of the Greenville Police Department since 1987. He also founded the John C. Vaughn Evangelistic Association in 2007. Additionally, Dr. Vaughn acted as the chairman of the Greenville County Human Relations Commission, served as a counselor for the Greenville County Crisis Response Team, and was a member of the executive board of directors of International Baptist Missions.
Dr. Vaughn was aligned with the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs, Christians for Religious Freedom, the South Carolina Association of Christian Schools, and the American Association of Christian Schools. He is a member of Sons of the American Revolution, the International Conference of Police Chaplains, the ACFT Owners and Pilots Association, and the American Legion. For exceptional achievements in his field, Dr. Vaughn has been featured in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, and Who's Who in the World.
