Recognized amongst his peers for excellence in organizational development and leadership, Isaac Goodine has spent the past six decades establishing himself as a business executive and educator. His professional journey began when he earned a Bachelor of Science, a certification in engineering, and a Bachelor of Education from Mount Allison University in 1956, 1957 and 1960, respectively. He also graduated from the Regular Officers' Training Plan, in 1956, and received his commission in the Army. Mr. Goodine proceeded to leverage his military and academic experiences to educate others, and served as an instructor at the New Brunswick Institute of Technology from 1961 to 1965. His hard work and talent allowed him to quickly climb the corporate ladder; in 1965, he was promoted to the role of vice principal of the institute, and in 1966, he became its principal. After four years, Mr. Goodine left to explore other opportunities, first as the founding principal of the Zambia Institute of Technology and then as the deputy director, and then director, of the Department of Technical Education and Vocational Training in Lusaka, Zambia. Other notable roles include director of Kenya Technical Teachers College, senior technical educator of The World Bank in Washington, D.C., senior development officer of the Canadian International Development Agency, director of the Colombo Plan Staff College, first secretary of the Canadian High Commission, and managing director of the Knowledge Development Institute. He currently uses his extensive background in a consulting role.

As the 5th director of the Colombo Plan Staff College, 1991-92, Mr. Goodine shares a place of honour and responsibility with 10 other directors general who are now featured in wall murals in the Hall of Wisdom established at the College in 2010 to serve as a 'lighthouse' to the next generation by highlighting a legacy of achievements since 1974, and to facilitate current professional mentorship activities.
