Considered an expert in metallurgical engineering, Dr. Fragomeni has been working as a professor in the field since the late 1980s. Over the course of his career, he has worked as a management associate engineer for U.S. Steel Corporation, assistant researcher for the Department Defense Analysis Center at the University of Purdue, assistant professor at the University of Alabama, Ohio University and the University of Detroit, and summer faculty fellow for Wright Patterson Airforce AFB Materials and Manufacturing. His most notable achievements include his research in aluminum-lithium alloys for aerospace applications and titanium alloys for biomedical applications.
Dr. Fragomeni prepared for his career by achieving a Bachelor of Science in metallurgical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Science in engineering from Purdue University and a Ph.D. from Purdue University. He went on to become a certified quality technician by ASQ and an accredited construction quality manager from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Moreover, Dr. Fragomeni achieved a Six Sigma greenbelt in 2012. Aside from his academic accolades, he has taken on career-related civic projects that have moved his career forward. He was a graduate research assistant for Purdue University's Engineering Research Center, a summer faculty fellow for the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, and a metallurgical engineering consultant for Westmoreland Mechanical Testing and Research Center.
In recognition of his professional excellence over the years, Dr. Fragomeni was named a merit scholar by the University of Pittsburgh and a scholar by Carpenter Technical Corporation. He was also inducted into the Prestigious National Honor Society. Additionally, Dr. Fragomeni was selected for inclusion into Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the Midwest and Who's Who in the World. Today, he stays at the top of his field through his various industry affiliations, including fellowship with the American Biographical Institute, which honored him as Man of the Year and selected him as an ambassador for the General Cultural Convention, among many other outstanding performance awards. Dr. Fragomeni is also a member of the Engineering Society of Detroit, the Michigan Education Association, and the Society for the Advancement of Materials and Process Engineering. Looking to the future, Dr. Fragomeni intends to continue working as an educator in the field of engineering.
