Since 2009, he has worked as of counsel for Tilford, Dobbins & Schmidt, LLP, where he previously acted as partner for three decades and an associate for 17 years. In his community, Mr. Buckaway is recognized as an elder for the Second Presbyterian Church of Louisville, an emeritus member of the board of governors of the Lexington unit of Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children and a former member of the board of governors of Norton Health Care. He is also a member of the First Families of Kentucky.
To prepare for his career, Mr. Buckaway earned a Bachelor of Arts from Centre College in Danville, Ky. in 1956, and a JD from the University of Louisville in 1961. He is certified to practice law in the State of Kentucky, the U.S. District Court for the Western and Eastern Districts of Kentucky, the U.S. Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. As he looks to the future, Mr. Buckaway intends to continue working for Tilford, Dobbins & Schmidt and remaining a community leader in the city of Louisville.
