Earl Otto Ellison has enjoyed an extensive career working in and around the nation's capital in a variety of roles. Beginning in the late 1950s, he served as the head of supplies and equipment at the Pentagon for C&P Telephone Co., which now operates as Verizon. From there, he became a tax accountant in the trust department of National Bank Washington before becoming a methods analyst for Automation Industries.
In 1961, Mr. Ellison was a member of the U.S. Naval Reserve. He was activated by the U.S. Navy and served for 20 months with Patrol Bomber Squadron VP 661, headquartered at Leeward Point, Cuba, tracking Russian nuclear submarines in the Atlantic and waters surrounding Eastern Cuba as a response to The Cuban Missile Crisis.
In 1965, following his 1964 graduation from American University, he began working as a management instructor for the General Services Administration in Washington, D.C., which constructs, manages and preserves government buildings. Two years later, he became a contract negotiator in information technology services for the administration, a role he would occupy until 1977.
From there, Mr. Ellison began working as a computer systems contracting officer responsible for network administration and system security, which in part prepared him for his role as a network security consultant to Northrop Grumman. As a leading global company providing security solutions, Northrop Grumman benefitted from his expertise in several areas, including network administration, from 2002 to 2013. Having amassed more than 40 years of experience in his profession, Mr. Ellison currently serves as a consultant to Securitas Services and the president of Teledesic Services Inc. He is the author of "Revenue Code of 1962: Effects on the Multi-National Firm," which was published in 1965.
Apart from his professional obligations, Mr. Ellison is an avid ballroom dancer and judged several competitions of the U.S. Ballroom Dancing Association from 1986 to 1996. He was also a swimming and diving coach for the Pike Branch Swim and Tennis Club for 35 years. Mr. Ellison is a former member of the executive board of the American Beethoven Society and member of Sons of Norway International, the purpose of which is to preserve and promote Norwegian heritage throughout the world. He served as President of Sons of Norway's Washington, D.C. chapter from 1994-1995.
Mr. Ellison has received several accolades and recognitions throughout his career, namely inclusion in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the Media and Communication, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, and Who's Who in the World.
